8 MARCH INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CAMPAIGNS

As Boyner Group, we view achieving gender equality as a women's rights issue and a matter of democracy. Since 2009, we have raised public awareness about gender equality and women's rights on March 8th International Women's Day. Through our communication efforts in this field, we highlight the supportive policies and practices that need to be established regarding gender inequality and support efforts to create a social agenda.

İYİ İŞLER

We know a sustainable economy can only be discussed by ensuring women's equal participation. This understanding is one of the fundamental motivations behind our 'İyi İşler' (Good Works) project, which we launched in 2015 to empower women entrepreneurs and support their journey. The project, initiated by Boyner Group and carried out in collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Türkiye (KAGİDER) since 2018, continues to thrive. The sixth training term concluded in February 2024, and to date, 119 women entrepreneurs have graduated from 'İyi İşler.'

SENİNLE TAMAM

With the "Seninle Tamam" (Complete with You) project aimed at increasing women's employment, we aimed to provide job opportunities for women who had to take a break from their careers for various reasons and to create new employment models. The project was designed to address a significant societal need through its recruitment approach. We allowed women to work, earn, and pursue a profession without feeling lagging.

YARINLAR BÜYÜSÜN!

"Yarınlar Büyüsün!" (Let Tomorrow Grow!) is a project dedicated to creating comprehensive supportive policies for parenting. We provide various forms of support for our employee-parents, such as extended paternity leave, adoption leave, postpartum psychological support for both parents, dietitian services, and child development training. As a part of this initiative, paternity leave at Boyner Group has been extended to 4 weeks, including one week of legal leave and an additional three weeks of paid leave.

BİRİZ BİRLİKTEYİZ

In 2022, we launched the "Biriz Birlikteyiz" (We Are One, We Are Together) project, aiming to support Boyner Group employees not only within the organization but also in their personal lives. We are committed to protecting our employees against any violence they might encounter. By participating in the "Business World Against Domestic Violence" training organized by Sabancı University, we initiated this project, making supportive adjustments in our human resources policies. We expanded the project’s scope by adding training and psychological support phases. As a result of our long-standing efforts on gender equality and this project launched this year, we became the first retail company to sign the International Labour Organization (ILO)'s Convention No. 190 on Violence and Harassment.

GÖNÜLDEN İŞARET

We focus on fostering an inclusive communication environment for our employees, business partners, and customers. To achieve this, we initiated the "Gönülden İşaret" (Heartfelt Sign) project with the assistance of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disability Department, aiming to facilitate our employees' learning of sign language. The objective is to have at least one employee proficient in sign language in our head office and Boyner stores. In the project’s initial phase, 28 employees completed their training and obtained certificates.

MOR YERLEŞKE

In the aftermath of the earthquake, we sprang into action to support women, children, and older people in the region, transforming our emergency aid into lasting projects. Collaborating with the Federation of Women's Associations Turkey (TKDF), we backed the “Mor Yerleşke” (Purple Campus) initiative to enhance the conditions of vulnerable groups in the earthquake zone and establish psychosocial safe havens. Each Mor Yerleşke features a psychologist, a social worker, and a child protection specialist. Of the total 25 campuses in the project, we supported 14 Mor Yerleşkes. Underscoring the importance of fostering a resilient community and the objective of amplifying kindness through unity, we launched a dedicated campaign to expand the number of settlements, shedding light on the region's needs. Through messages like "If Women Heal, the World Changes" and "Let's Heal Together," we urged everyone to contribute to the growth of Mor Yerleşkes, reaching out to more women and children. Our efforts included fundraising for the project through Fonzip.

ASKIDA İYİLİK

Through our ongoing “Askıda İyilik” (Pay It Forward) project, which started in 2016, we prepare special product packages in our stores and online sales channels, allowing our customers to contribute clothing to those in need. We offer these products to our customers as “Askıda İyilik” packages. Each package sold is delivered to those in need through the Lokman Hekim Health Foundation. The “Askıda İyilik” project has delivered 65,000 packages to those in need. When our customers purchase a “Askıda İyilik” package, Boyner matches their contribution, aiming to expand the reach of this kindness initiative further.

İYİLİĞE DÖNÜŞTÜR

Since 2014, we have been collaborating with the Lokman Hekim Health Foundation on the "İyiliğe Dönüştür" (Turn it into Good) project to contribute to recycling used textiles. This project aims to raise awareness about responsible consumption and recycling of unused textiles among various people, from our employees to our customers. Clothes collected in the "İyiliğe Dönüştü" boxes located in our stores and corporate headquarters are sorted into categories: "Reuse,” "Upcycling," and "Recycling.” Some items that cannot be reused or upcycled are converted into fuel. Clothes in good condition are sold at charity bazaars. With the proceeds from these bazaars and recycling activities, we have provided scholarships to 51 health science students through the Lokman Hekim Health Foundation.

HER MAĞAZA BİR ÖĞRENCİ

In line with our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we launched the "Her Mağaza Bir Öğrenci" (Each Store, A Student) project at the end of 2021. This project focuses on the social dimension of sustainability, explicitly prioritizing the goal of "Quality Education." Through this initiative, we aim to contribute to students within the framework of the 17 Global Goals outlined in the 2030 Agenda, particularly addressing "No Poverty,” "Zero Hunger," and "Reduced Inequalities." Each store provides students a scholarship in this project while offering them part-time work, internships, and priority employment opportunities. As BR Mağazacılık, we guide and support students, facilitating their smooth transition into the professional world throughout their education. We provide a platform for them to express their voices in a democratic environment, aiming to support their personal development and preparedness for the future in various ways. We firmly believe that quality education can facilitate individual and societal transformation. We are achieving significant success on this path and striving to create added value. To date, including those who graduated in 2023, we have supported 120 students through the "Every Store, a Scholar" project.
